Studio Policies

Cancellation Policy:

  • All cancellations must be requested at least 48 hours in advance by email (fiammaglass@gmail.com) or phone (617 875 8649) or you will be subject to rescheduling fee of $20. Exceptions can be made for health issues, but please contact us as soon as possible.
  • If you schedule a class with a voucher and have not contacted us to reschedule 48 hours prior to class, your voucher is considered used regardless of your attendance.
    Please Read:
  • Adjusting to the new requirements needed to keep both our customers and staff safe is difficult and expensive. We are doing everything we can to accommodate every existing voucher. We apologize for the more stringent scheduling policies but given the current conditions and the smaller classes we cannot absorb “no call/no show” losses like we have in previous years. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for helping us ensure a safe and fun glass experience for everyone!

Preparing for your flameworking class & what to expect:

At Fiamma Glass we provide all the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for your flameworking class, but we have a few recommendations:

  • Wear comfortable clothing made of natural materials. Try to avoid wearing anything dangling or too loose.
  • Wear as little jewelry as possible.
  • For those who need eye correction, we recommend wearing contacts. If contacts are uncomfortable or inaccessible, small lightweight glasses are preferred, asĀ  you will have to wear our special glasses over them.
  • Closed toed shoes are recommended.
  • We welcome bottled water/small snacks. There are many restaurants within walking distance, but for those who want to bring their own we have a microwave and a refrigerator.
  • Please arrive a few minutes early! Our classes begin with very important safety information. If you cannot make the beginning of the class, you may be unable to participate within the time frame and have to reschedule. Please let us know if you are running late as soon as possible. Otherwise we ask that you try and arrive 10 minutes in advance so that we can get to the fun stuff behind the flame as quickly as possible!
  • Items created during class will need to cool slowly in a kiln over night. Items will be available for pick or shipping ($5 shipping) the next day. We will hold on to your items for 3 months after your class, after which they will not longer be available for pick up or shipping.

Age and Disability:
Flameworking is a relatively accessible form of hot glass work and as such is available to a wider range of people than traditional glassblowing. It is still however somewhat demanding both physically and mentally. We ask that anyone with any disabilities or health conditions to please notify us before scheduling a class. We will do everything in our power to include everyone who can safely participate, but we reserve the right to make an experienced judgment before and through the end of the class. Anyone unable to participate for health reasons will be fully refunded.

Our minimum age for participation is 14, though we ask that anyone under the age of 18 have a parent or legal guardian fill out and sign their release form.

Parking

Parking is available in the Chestnut Street Public parking lot around the block. The studio is accessible from the lot, enter through the blue door on the side of the building.
